Vintage Race Works combines craftsmanship and passion with the beautiful, vintage design of American muscle.
After restoring several 1967-68 Ford Mustangs, I have been incepted with a new obsession - racing a vintage Mustang on closed Mexican highways for over 1,000 miles against some of the toughest competitors in the world. The competition cars must be full, purpose-built, race cars that can withstand whatever the Mexican countryside can throw at them over a course of several of the toughest days that even most modern cars would not be able to survive.
The car I have chosen for this adventure is a 1967 Ford Mustang coupe that originally started life as a simple C-code, 200 horsepower, 3 speed automatic commuter. The end result will be a 302 cid, 4-speed replica of the Trans Am Mustangs that dominated the 1967 Trans-Am championship headed up by Shelby American.
